My best guess as to what is happening now:
RFK's request for Secret Service protection was really a plea for the Deep State not to whack him. Biden decides to drop out of the race for President. He can pick his favorite excuse. RFK Jr.'s new VP running mate won't get him any Republican votes, but she is a direct plea for Democratic votes. RFK Jr. promises not to put any of the Deep State in jail, which is where they belong. The Deep State promises not to whack him. (While their promises are worthless, somebody has to be President.) RFK Jr. becomes a puppet of the Deep State. And his rich VP running mate seals the deal by heavily bribing Biden. At the Democratic convention, RFK Jr. declares his undying love for the Democratic Party, and becomes their man to run against Trump.
