For all of my interest in mediating an end of the conflict in the Myanmar civil war, I don't personally know any of the personalities.
Julie Bishop is Australian, and they have the wrottenest economic politics I've seen, outside of pure communism. Like Bitcoin, their economics will come crashing down. While it is scant pleasure to see it happen, the world will survive. I don't see Jule as having much of an effect on Myanmar economics.
Judging her to be economically harmless (as good as could be hoped for in Australia), I applaud her as the United Nations envoy in helping put an end to the Myanmar civil war. The UN has provided Julie Bishop to use to help straighten out this mess, and I suggest all parties in the conflict to see what she has to offer. She is the tool the UN has provided. Let's use her!
