In general, if you process the same old ingredients in the same old way, you will get the same old results. This appears to be what Myanmar is doing. Well, it's their country. But that's only at first pass. In the US 2016 election, Obama, in trying to help get Hillary elected, called for Suu Kyi to add her star power to Hillary. And Suu Kyi came running, but it wasn't enough to help Hillary win a close race.
Right now Obama is trying to stay out of jail, for helping to rig the American Deep State against the American people.
And the multitude of socialist European countries are attempting to add Myanmar to their side.
If Trump can avoid being assassinated by the Deep State, he may fix much of this. Trump probably had the 2020 election adjusted away from him. Joe Biden got an extra pop of 10 million votes, all the while he was sitting in his basement, rather than campaigning. But Trump couldn't catch the Democrats at it, so Joe Biden was acknowledged the winner of the 2020 elections.
The Deep State slimed Trump over Russia gate, and they didn't hide their tracks thoroughly enough, so they're all trying to stay out of jail from their multitude of perjuries.
While the Western socialists are all star struck by Suu Kyi, don't expect Trump to be so affected, having been slimed out of an election victory once already. If the Tatmadaw wants to extract itself from the mess it's in, this is a good moment for it. Whoever really won Myanmar's last election, don't expect Trump to automatically assume it was Suu Kyi.
The Kachins have their rare earth elements (REEs). While it would be nice for anybody to have, don't make too much of it. The real value in the Kachins REEs is that they are in a form that can be mined relatively cheaply, if you don't mind destroying the soil to extract them. That poor soil!
My suggestion of the Tatmadaw trying to woo the Kachins is but one possibility. There are other armed ethnics worth wooing. If the Tatmadaw can woo one or two more ethnic armies before the elections, the whole game changes. NUG slowly loses any claim to legitimacy, and Myanmar becomes a nation.
