I don't like much of what Erdogan has been doing, but I hold my tongue. A few years ago he made headlines for wanting to go nuclear. But he then de-emphasized the issue. That was good for me. I don't want anyone to go nuclear, even around the edges, like Saudi Arabia. The big issue is nuclear, and with Turkey not chasing it, I am happy to ignore other issues.
Israel doesn't like any military build up for either of these two countries. I understand their point, but I am not Jewish. To appease Israel, I have suggested that the US confer with Lisa Daftari on Iran. I don't know her current opinions, but opinions from a sane person are likely to be sane. Lisa is no stranger to Israel, and likely could help bring the US and Israel together for Netanyahu's visit. There are no easy answers for Iran, but perhaps Lisa has more creativity than me.
